Week of 1/4-1/8
We begin our study of the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution this week. This unit begins with an examination of how and why the Articles of Confederation failed and the effort by the delegates of the Constitutional Convention to create a new framework for the federal government. Students will have homework this week on this topic answering questions about a reading called, "The Road to Change."
In addition, we are going to take a look at the special election being held in Massachusetts to elect a senator to fill the late Ted Kennedy's seat. Students will be creating a scrapbook chronicling this event. Homework for this will begin at the end of this week.
Monday: No Homework
Tuesday: Using the reading "The Road to Change" answer questions for paragraphs 1-6.
Wednesday: Using the reading "The Road to Change" answer questions for paragraphs 7-12.
Thursday: Using the reading "The Road to Change" answer questions for paragraphs 13-19.

Week of 12/14-12/18
Monday 12/14: Students should finish pages 1 and 2 of the Revolutionary War packet and use pgs. 177-183 in the textbook to complete page 1 and pgs. 184-189 to complete page 2.
Tuesday 12/15: No homework except for those students that did not finish pages 1 and 2 in the Revolutionary War packet.
Week of November 30-December 4
This week we will be working in class on our Declaration of Independence rewrite in order to be ready to "slam" it on Friday in the library. There will be no homework during this time except to study for the Events Leading to the Revolutionary War test. A study guide will be handed out on Thursday December 3. The test will be Friday December 11, 2009

Monday-Friday: Oral reports are due for the events leading to the American Revolution.
If you studied any event from Pontiac's Uprising through the Townshend Acts, your project is due on Wednesday.
If you studied from the Daughters of Liberty to the Battle of Bunker Hill, your project is due on Friday.
*Remember that the field trip is Tuesday and there is an early release on Thursday.

Monday-Thursday: Work on finishing five paragraph summary and designing your poster for the Events project. All final posters with summaries are due this Friday, the 13th! Please refer to my handout for how to design your poster.
