Operations: Cabot School Council

Meeting Operations
The Cabot School Council meets on a monthly basis: the  meeting schedule is established and published early in the school year.

An agenda is established and published before each monthly meeting, and the agenda follows a standardized template that encourages public discussion and focus on key topics and priorities. The agenda template includes:
- Approve Meeting Minutes
- Public Forum
- Key Topics
- Next Steps

Each year the Cabot School PTO and School Council hold a January joint meeting. For the  2007-2008 school year this joint meeting was the school’s first-ever State of the School Address.

In general, School Council work is accomplished through sub-committees. Examples of sub-committee includes Facilities; Outdoor Guidelines; and Curriculum Enrichment.

Communication Venues
School Council meeting schedules, agendas and minutes are published  the School Council meeting schedule early in the year through the school’s newsletter, the Jabberwok, and on the Cabot School website. In addition, the public is encouraged to join the Council for Public Forum during School Council meetings.
