Priorities: Cabot School Council
2007-2008

Priorities and Focus

At the start of the 2007-2008 academic year, the Council worked with Dr. Quarcoo in establishing priorities that would focus this year’s work. These priorities were influenced by several factors: The need to continue to implement objectives previously  established under the School Improvement Plan; the ongoing need to address facility issues that challenge the school’s ability to continue to deliver a high quality educational environment; issues or concerns raised by parents in previous school years.

Key areas of focus for the 2007-2008 School Council are:
- Initiating and advocating for facilities improvement plan for short and long term needs
- Identifying increased opportunities for mathematics curriculum and introducing a K-5 writing program
- Promoting school Core Values to help the our community focus and maintain clarity in light of multiple, conflicting priorities
- Assessing and Adopting sensory integration concepts into the classroom
