Bowen’s Weekly Family Update
March 22, 2019
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Dear Bowen Families,
It has been an exciting week as many families have entered the building eager to learn more about their children’s experiences in school this winter.  I hope you have enjoyed the time discussing your child’s progress over the year.  Thank you for everything you do to help your children develop and grow as learners.  Bowen is a great place to be!  Enjoy the weekend, see you next week!
Yours truly,
Diana

News You Need to Know
Bowen Community Forum Review
This week, Bowen families met with our superintendent, Dr. David Fleishman, and school committee members, including Ruth Goldman, Anping Shen and Kathy Shields.  David and the school committee members provided information about some of the NPS initiatives, including curriculum, social emotional learning and facilities planning.  Families also had the opportunity to ask questions.  In addition to this open discussion, Kathy Shields presented more information about the NPS Equity Policy.  I have included the presentation in the newsletter. Superintendent's Presentation  I hope you can find time to look through it.  Any questions or feedback can be sent directly to the working group, EquityWorkingGroup@newton.k12.ma.us

Bowen's Book Fair and BAM Night (Books, Art, Music)
The Bowen Book Fair and BAM is next week, Wednesday, March 27.  We hope that you can join our community to enjoy some books, art and music!

Lost and Found
When visiting school over the next month for conferences,  please look through lost and found.  There is a lot of winter gear that has been collected.  We will be donating unclaimed items after conferences.
