Bowen’s Weekly Family Update
September 21, 2018

Dear Bowen Families,
It was so nice to see so many of our families enjoying the Bowen PTO Back-to-School Picnic last night as they ate pizza and connected with other families.  I am looking forward to more community events throughout the year.  Family engagement is a vital part to a successful year at Bowen.   Bowen is a great place to be!  Enjoy your weekend!
Yours truly,

School Safety Day - Evacuation Walk
On Friday, September 28th, Bowen School will practice the procedure for leaving the school and relocating to an off-campus site.  The initial steps for leaving the building are the same as for a fire drill, which we have already practiced as individual classrooms and as a whole school.  In the case of an event where students and staff are not safely able to gather on the Upper Field, we walk to our designated site, which is the Lutheran Church of the Newtons at 1310 Centre Street.  Our evacuation practice will begin at 8:45 a.m., and we will all be back to school by 9:45 a.m. that morning.  Keep your fingers crossed for a sunny day!

Staff Updates
Please welcome Elena Koros to Bowen.  She is joining our Lunch Staff and will be supporting classes during lunch and recess.
