Bowen’s Weekly Family Update
April 27, 2018

Dear Bowen Families,
It was great to welcome students, families and staff back to school after the April break.  The next two months of school will be filled with learning and special events as we reflect on the current school year and prepare for school year 2018-2019.  I am looking forward to seeing many families at Bowen’s Annual International Potluck Dinner this evening.  Thank you again for everything you do to help your children develop and grow as learners.  Bowen is a great place to be!  Have a great weekend!
Yours truly,

Early Release Thursday
Students will be dismissed on Thursday, May 3 at 12:30 p.m.  During the afternoon, the Bowen staff will participate in professional development.  We will be engaging in courageous conversations about race in order to develop a shared understanding of the impact of racial identity on the school experiences of staff and students in order to foster a welcoming and inclusive school community for staff, students and their families.

5th graders will be selling pizza, water, juice and other snacks outside of school on Thursday, May 3rd at 12:30 (early release). 2018-2019 Placement Information
During the months of May and June, we will begin our work to create balanced classrooms for the next school year.  An important part of this process is the feedback we will be requesting from parents/guardians regarding your child’s learning style, goals you have for your child, and social information regarding his/her peers.  Included in this email is a placement form that you may use to give us feedback regarding your child that will help us in our process. This optional form will need to be returned to school by Monday, May 7th.  We are sorry that we cannot accept late placement forms.  Optional Placement Form

School Council Summary
