Bowen’s Weekly Family Update
April 13, 2018

Dear Bowen Families,
We kicked off our unofficial school week on Sunday with an amazing science day.  More than 200 Bowen students and other community members demonstrated how to “BE Curious.”  Students were eager to share their thinking and learning.  This event could not happen without the work of a number of volunteers, thank you for all that you did to ensure this event was successful!  To end our week, the 5th graders led our all school assembly.  They focused on how to show kindness and created a video to “catch the kindness wave.”  I hope the upcoming vacation week is filled with moments of kindness for the Bowen community.  Thank you again for everything you do to help your children develop and grow as learners.  Bowen is a great place to be!  See you on April 23, enjoy the break!
Yours truly,

The International Potluck Dinner is Friday, April 27, at 6:00 pm in the Bowen gym.  Please join us in celebrating Bowen's diversity, bring a dish reflective of your heritage, and wear something representative.
  • Ms. Amber Wenger will have wonderful art exhibits by the 3rd and 4th graders on display throughout the evening.
  • From 7:15-8:30 pm, please join us in the auditorium for student performances of folk dance, rhythmic gymnastics, instrumental/vocal music, magic, Chinese yo yo, martial arts, Chinese lion dance, and a parade of international outfits.
  • Please email Jen Lee at jenlee743@gmail.com if your child is interested in performing that evening or willing to wear traditional clothes in our parade. We would like as many countries represented as possible.
  • We are putting together a slide show showcasing the worldly travels of Bowen families, and will display it in the Bowen lobby the week of April 23.  Please email international travel photos of your children to Julia Wu at juliwwu@yahoo.com as soon as possible.
