Dear Bowen Families,

Happy Friday-before-February vacation!  We know that the snow days helped to create a little “vacation before vacation” scenario, and yet, everyone is certainly still looking forward to the regularly-scheduled break!  This short week was an exciting one, with kids returning to school after a five-day weekend for the Valentine’s Day/100th Day of School combination on Tuesday.  The time just flew by!  Thank you so much for everything you do to support your children in their growth and learning outside of school, as it allows everyone IN school to help students be successful.  Have a wonderful week off, and we will look forward to welcoming everyone back once vacation wraps up!

Yours truly,
Diana & Tiffany

News From Ms. Guzzi
We wanted to let all families know that Diana will be out on a short medical leave after the February break.  Tiffany Back, the Assistant Principal, will be available for anything that comes up while Diana is out.  And, of course, all of our Bowen staff members will keep on doing the wonderful things they do to keep Bowen humming along!
Translations of ELL & Classroom Progress Reports
If you would like a translated copy of either an ELL or Classroom Progress report, ESL teachers have been given the translations for both.  These documents are available in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.  The district will also have all documents up on the “Communicating With Families Who Need Language Assistance” webpage soon.

A Message from the Bowen Library
Hello families,
Bound to Stay Bound has a great program, Support our School Library, where you can purchase books for the Bowen library or make a general donation.  This program is more important than ever because of budget cuts to the library this year.
Contributions can be made in two ways:
1. Select specific titles from the school wish list. Donor nameplates can be customized and inserted in each book selected.
2. Contribute a specific dollar amount and Bound to Stay Bound will select titles from the wish list to fulfill the amount.
To purchase a book or make a general donation click on the “make a donation” button on the top right part of the page.
If you have any questions please email our Library Teacher, Donna Mason, at Donna_Mason@newton.k12.ma.us
Thank you so much!
