Dear Bowen Families,

Well, there’s no two ways about it...this was kind of a weird week!  A three-day weekend...followed by an early release day...followed by another day off...and then a Thursday that felt remarkably like a Monday.  At least we know that today is Friday!  And the next few weeks will give us some solid blocks of time to spend together for many different types of learning opportunities, which will be wonderful for both students and adults alike!  So take some time with your family this weekend to relax and recharge for the week ahead.  We appreciate everything you do to support your children’s learning--it’s what makes Bowen a great place to be!  See you on Monday!

Yours truly,
Diana & Tiffany

News You Need to Know

Bowen School Council - New Members
We would like to welcome three new parent representatives to the Bowen School Council!  Jesse Moore, Ariel Markelevich, and Carine Luxama will join the Council in their work this year.  Joanne Cudkowicz will also join as a new teacher member this year.  The group’s first meeting is on Friday, October 28th at 7:30 a.m. here at Bowen.  All meetings are open to the Bowen community, so feel free to join us!

School Picture Retakes
Was your child absent on school picture day?  Did you receive a notice from Coffee Pond suggesting the need for a retake?  Or would you just like to give it another try?  Coffee Pond will be here the morning of Wednesday, November 2nd to do retakes for school pictures.  If you received photos but would like a retake, you can return the photos with your child that day.  There is no need to sign up in advance.

Halloween Candy Drive
Looking for a way to avoid eating ALL of the trick or treating treats?  Bowen School will once again take part in the Wellesley Dental Group’s Annual Community Candy Drive to benefit the US troops serving overseas.  We will be collecting candy and/or notes to the soldiers in the Bowen lobby from November 1st through November 4th.  Last year, 33 schools from 13 different towns participated and brightened the days of many soldiers.  Let’s do it again!

A Note From the Bowen Library
Hello families,
Bound to Stay Bound has a great program, Support our School Library, where you can purchase books for the Bowen library or make a general donation.  Our students love new books!
Contributions can be made in two ways:
1. Select specific titles from the school wish list. Donor nameplates can be customized and inserted in each book selected.
2. Contribute a specific dollar amount and Bound to Stay Bound will select titles from the wish list to fulfill the amount.
To purchase a book or make a general donation click on the “make a donation” button on the top right part of the page.
Thank you so much!
If you have any questions please email our Library Teacher,
