The kindergarten classes share the following tradition to celebrate the children’s birthdays.  On your child’s birthday, he/she may bring in a favorite picture book from home to share, which I will read to the class sometime during the day.  Try to be conscious of story length - a book that can be read in 10-15 minutes is  ideal.

In addition to reading your child’s special book, we make a group birthday card during activity choice and the birthday child gets a crown.  We will not be sharing special snacks on birthdays; the book is the special item to share!!

If your child’s birthday falls on a weekend, over a vacation, or in the summer, we can determine together a day to celebrate at school.  Thanks for your help in implementing this tradition.

In addition, new traditions at Cabot this year include reading the children’s names on their birthdays over the intercom and giving them certificates to spend at the Cabot School store!
